The Alliance creates capacity and opportunity for citizens to participate in policy-making and restoration activities throughout the Bay watershed. Baltimore Child Abuse Center

Baltimore Child Abuse Center’s mission is to minimize the trauma children and their families experience during a sexual-abuse investigation. Interviews of children are conducted by psychologists one on one. These interviews are watched via closed-circuit TV in a separate room by a team of professionals (child protection services worker, police detectives, assistant state's attorney). The Goucher volunteer serves as facilitator, sitting in the viewing room with the professionals and taking verbatim notes of the child’s interview. Other responsibilities include greeting the family and professionals, assembling the parties for the professional interview and the parent interview, preparing the paper work needed prior to the interview, and assembling the resulting case file.

Hampton National Historic Site offers programs that might place a Goucher student in a Georgian mansion with landscaped grounds and gardens, or any of its remarkable outbuildings, including original slave quarters, barns and farmhouse. Students will work as tour guides. They will need to attend a training session, as well as do research and gain proficiency in topic.

HARBEL Community Organization is a nonprofit based in the northeast area of Baltimore City. It is an umbrella organization composed of neighborhood and business associations, churches, schools, service organizations, and institutions. Its purpose is to unite organizations in order to define and solve problems common to the community, and to provide a forum for community improvement. HARBEL also runs a substance-abuse treatment center for adolescents and adults, and programs to help citizens buy homes.

Lemmel Middle School Afterschool Program involves Goucher students as mentors for a group of approximately 20 seventh grade students from Lemmel Middle School in West Baltimore. The goal of this program is to expose the seventh graders to the range of possibilities available to them in the future and to encourage them to pursue their interests and dreams. National Student Partnerships - Baltimore
National Student Partnerships (NSP) is the nation's only year-round, student-led volunteer service organization that links people in need with the resources and opportunities necessary to become self-sufficient. NSP operates a national network of drop-in resource centers, staffed by student volunteers from area colleges and universities. Working one-on-one with low-income community members (clients), NSP volunteers provide intensive on-site and referral services, which enable clients to achieve their goals. On-site services generally include making resumes, looking for jobs or housing, making a budget, applying for public benefits, providing referrals to other service agencies, and helping solve other problems in the client's life. Since 1972 St. Ambrose has been a focal point of the Southern Park Heights community in Baltimore City, working with the community to improve the lives of low-income individuals, families, and children. Each year, the Center reaches more than 40,000 persons with its broad scope of services. St. Ambrose offers an extensive variety of comprehensive, community-based day and evening programs and services. While helping to meet basic human needs is a vital part of the St. Ambrose mission, its principal focus is to provide resources to help individuals become self-sufficient, realize their potential, and achieve their life goals.
