Stress Management

Meditation

Breathing meditation techniques can help you overcome stress and find inner peace and balance. Meditation can also help us to understand our own mind. We can learn how to transform our mind from negative to positive, from disturbed to peaceful, from unhappy to happy. Overcoming negative minds and cultivating constructive thoughts is the purpose of the transforming meditation tradition.

Every Wednesday starting 2/8, 3-4 pm, Thormann 211

Yoga

Yoga is a system of breathing exercises, meditation and postures derived from or based on Hindu yoga, a discipline that promotes spiritual unity with a supreme being through a system of postures and rituals. The main philosophy of yoga is simple: mind, body and spirit are all one and cannot be clearly separated.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
