Professor Levin's research interests include biochemistry of protein-DNA interactions, structure-function relationships in transcription complexes of
E. coli RNA Polymerase, and nucleic acid structure and enzymology. She has published research articles in journals such as the
Journal of Biological Chemistry,
Journal of Molecular Biology, and
Methods in Enzymology and has made presentations at professional meetings and various universities. Her research has been supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and a Cottrell College Science Award. She has also worked as an Associate Research Scientist at Johns Hopkins University. Holding a joint appointment in the departments of Biological Sciences and Chemistry, she has taught Cell Biology and Biochemistry, Techniques in Cell Biology, Biochemistry of Gene Expression, Techniques in Biochemistry: Proteins, and Nutrition.
