Goucher College is offering a number of ways to observe today’s International Day of Peace:
- Our labyrinth will be available in the Hyman Forum from noon until 9:00 p.m. A labyrinth is an ancient symbol that relates to wholeness. It combines the imagery of the circle and the spiral into a meandering but purposeful path. The labyrinth represents a journey to our own center and back again out into the world. Labyrinths have long been used as meditation and prayer tools.
- The Goucher Meditation Club is providing cushions for sitting and meditating on the Hyman Forum stage, also noon until 9:00 p.m. Written guides to meditation will be available.
- The Chapel will be open from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. for prayer, meditation, the lighting of candles, and written expressions of hope, wishes, and prayers for peace.
