Find a subject overview

• Credo Reference Library (VPN)--full text access to encyclopedias, dictionaries
• Encyclopedia Britannica (VPN)--the complete encyclopedia online
• Wikipedia--not used for quoting in scholarly papers, but may be useful for finding references.  Check for a bibliography and links.

• Academic Search Premier (EBSCO)--citations to popular and scholarly journal articles with abstracts.  Many online articles or links to online articles
• Art Full Text--citations to journal articles and book reviews on art and architecture from 1929-1984
• Business Source Premier--Covers almost every aspect of business including management, economis, finance, accounting, marketing and more. Citations and many online articles.
• Communication and Mass Media Complete--Covers all aspects of communication inlcuding marketing and public relations.  Citations and many online articles.
• Education Journals--Several hundred online journals which cover primary, secondary and higher education and related topics.
• ERIC--A database containing citations and abstracts to over 1,000 journals in education and education related fields.  Also links to full text ERIC documents.
• Google Scholar--citations to scholarly journal articles and other materials.  Full text if you use VPN
• INFOTRAC--Expanded Academic ASAP--citations to popular and scholarly journal articles with abstracts.  Many online articles or links to online articles.
• International Index to the Performing Arts (4 users)--full text database of articles ont he performing arts and entertainment industry.
• JSTOR--online articles from scholarly journals beginning with first issue; generally does not include issues from the most recent 3-5 years
• LexisNexis--online articles from current magazines, law reviews and business publications
