Professor Hiller's research interests include developmentally-regulated gene expression and the function of the RNA polymerase II transcription machinery in eukaryotes. He has received research funding from an NSRA fellowship from the NIH, a Lalor Foundation research fellowship, and the National Science Foundation (CAREER award). His research has been published in journals such as Genetics and Genes and Development and has been presented at the Drosophila Research Conference. His courses at Goucher include Genetics, Advanced Genetics, Seminar in Genetics and Human Disease, Human Genetics (for non-science majors) and Biological Diversity I.
