Goucher Vagabonds

The Vagabonds Are Back!

All in all, the Goucher Vagabonds had quite a journey, meeting many amazing alumnae/i and learning more about Goucher than they had ever expected. After visiting 17 cities and traveling 8,409 miles, the Vagabonds finally arrived back at Goucher to the cheers of the Alumnae/i Board, who congratulated them on their safe return. With many hugs and greetings, Shayna, Saajid, and Aislyn shared some of their experiences before heading home with their parents, anxious to finally see their children after their long journey.

Background on the Vagabonds:

Three of our students, Aislyn Rose, Shayna Flynn, and Saajid King, all members of the Class of 2010 and recently anointed as the “Goucher Vagabonds,” left campus on Saturday, May 23rd in a highly decorated blue-and-gold Gopher van, on a three-week cross-country adventure.

Their mission? To connect with Goucher alumnae/i, parents, students, and friends, and to begin a series of new conversations about the college – the past, the present, and the future – as we launch the celebration of Goucher's 125th anniversary. The trip was chronicled in a number of ways – broadcast back to campus via electronic blogs, videography, photography, and other means, and with news distributed through GoucherConnect, our new password-protected on-line social-networking site (www.goucher.edu/goucherconnect).
