Prior to the visit by human rights activist Paul Rusesabagina, Goucher College will present two viewings of the film Hotel Rwanda, which explores Rusesabagina’s heroic efforts in saving the lives of more than a thousand people during the Rwandan genocide of 1994. The free film screenings will be held on Sunday, November 29, at 9 p.m. and Monday, November 30, at 7 p.m. in Kelley Lecture Hall.

Goucher College Exceeds Fundraising Goal, Extends Capital Campaign

The Goucher College Board of Trustees has raised the goal in its capital campaign by 25 percent and extended it for two additional years. “Transcending Boundaries: The Campaign for Goucher College” will now seek to raise $100 million by June 2012. The campaign, which began its “quiet phase” in July 2003 and went public in October 2007, had an original goal of raising $80 million by June 2010.

This fall Goucher welcomed a student from the Iraqi Student Project (ISP), a not-for-profit organization that works with American colleges and universities to secure tuition waivers or full scholarships for qualified Iraqi students who are unable to continue their education because of violence and chaos in their home country.
