Beth-Anne Chernichowski, director of sponsored research and corporate & foundation relations, joined Goucher College in 1999 as a foundation/corporate director in the development office. In 2004, she added sponsored research to her duties, and assumed her current position in the office of the provost. A Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), she also has taught seminars on philanthropy in the Frontiers program and in Goucher’s graduate certificate program in fund raising. She is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College, where she completed a double major in history and in music, and of The College of William and Mary (in Early American History). Her awards include PBS’s RADIOVISION Award, the Quest for Excellence award from the National Society of Fund Raising Executives (NSFRE), honors from the National Endowment from the Humanities (NEH), two Silver Accolades Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District II (one for her Faculty Grants Mentoring Program, and one for proposal writing), as well as a Circle of Excellence Award, the highest development award given by CASE national. She has published several articles, a monograph on material culture teaching, and writes test exam questions for the CFRE Professional Certification Board. Beyond Goucher, she is a trustee of Caroline Center, a job training/education center for women of Baltimore City, and also performs as a vocalist semi-professionally.
