Janine Bowen is the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs.  Her responsibilities include oversight of academic assessment and faculty development (such as teaching discussions and workshops, new faculty orientation and mentoring, travel and research grants, etc.).  She is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Management and served as the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies for five years.  She came to Goucher in 1994 with a PhD from The Ohio State University in Management and International Business and a corporate background in international human resources management.  Her scholarship includes articles and book chapters on international business theory and information technology, expansion methodology, Cuba’s tourism industry, as well as a book on foreign aid and economic development.
