Student Technology Orientation Sessions

A wide variety of computer classes and training sessions are available throughout the year. Notification of the class schedule is made through e-mail, the Goucher Digest, and the Information Technology Training website.

At the Technology Orientation session, first-time students will receive their Goucher College e-mail and network user name and password. Students will be provided with a specific time and location by Community Living during check-in.

First-time students will receive a hands-on overview of campus technology services and support:
  1. Learning about the college's Computer Use Policy
  2. Logging into the Goucher network and changing a password
  3. Using network drives to store files and documents on Darwin (student personal network folders) and Meyerhoff (student personal web pages)
  4. Requesting a personal website on Meyerhoff
  5. Using network printing on campus
  6. Logging into Outlook Web Access and using the Global Address List
  7. Using Outlook in labs vs. Outlook Web Access
  8. Discussion of the E-mail Digest
  9. Accessing myGoucher and a brief tour
  10. Accessing Blackboard and a brief tour
  11. Getting help and assistance on campus
