Student Technology Orientation Sessions
A wide variety of computer classes and training sessions are available throughout the year. Notification of the class schedule is made through e-mail, the Goucher Digest, and the Information Technology Training website.
At the Technology Orientation session, first-time students will receive their Goucher College e-mail and network user name and password. Students will be provided with a specific time and location by Community Living during check-in.
First-time students will receive a hands-on overview of campus technology services and support:
- Learning about the college's Computer Use Policy
- Logging into the Goucher network and changing a password
- Using network drives to store files and documents on Darwin (student personal network folders) and Meyerhoff (student personal web pages)
- Requesting a personal website on Meyerhoff
- Using network printing on campus
- Logging into Outlook Web Access and using the Global Address List
- Using Outlook in labs vs. Outlook Web Access
- Discussion of the E-mail Digest
- Accessing myGoucher and a brief tour
- Accessing Blackboard and a brief tour
- Getting help and assistance on campus
