New Employee Technology Orientation
To help new Goucher employees (faculty and staff) understand Goucher technology services and support, new employees will receive a hands-on technology orientation:
- Logging into the Goucher network and changing a password
- Using network drives to store files and documents on Magellan (personal and departmental network folders) and Meyerhoff (personal web pages)
- Printing to a network printer
- Using personal folders, accessing public folders, and finding names in the Global Address List in Outlook
- Scheduling a meeting using the Outlook Calendar
- Using Outlook Web Access from off-campus locations
- Receiving the E-mail Digest and how to post information on the Digest
- Accessing CampusWEB and a brief tour
- Accessing the Blackboard Course Management System and a brief tour
- Acquiring Microsoft Office for home use
- Getting help, training, and technology assistance on campus
- Learning about the college's Computer Use Policy
- Learning about off-campus access to files, documents, and campus systems
The technology orientation, which will be separate from the scheduled human resources orientation, will be held in the new employee's office. You can schedule the technology orientation by contacting the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology (410-337-6066 or ctlt@goucher.edu). Technology orientation sessions for new employees should be scheduled for their first day on campus.
