Assistant Professor of Religion

Goucher College invites applications for a full time, tenure track position beginning September 2009 at the assistant professor level in Religious Studies with a primary specialization in how religion illuminates the social sciences. The candidate’s research and teaching should engage areas such as Religion and Politics, Religion and the Media, Religion and Ecology, and New Religious Movements. The course load is 3/3. Ph.D. is required prior to appointment. The position also includes opportunities to develop courses for the college’s first year program and courses with interdisciplinary and international emphases. Preference will be given to qualified candidates who are interested in participating in such programs. We are a small, dynamic undergraduate program in a liberal arts college with an excellent track record of placing majors and minors in graduate programs.
