Assistant Professor of Psychology
The Department of Psychology at Goucher College invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position specializing in cultural/multicultural psychology to begin Fall 2009. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Psychology (or closely related field), show a commitment to undergraduate education, and show evidence of scholarship potential. We are particularly interested in candidates whose current research focuses on disadvantaged or underrepresented populations, including but not limited to an emphasis on issues of race, class, and gender. Teaching (three courses per semester) includes an introductory-level course in cultural/multicultural psychology, qualitative research methods, introductory psychology, and intermediate- and upper-level courses in the candidate’s area of interest. The college’s strategic plan has placed an emphasis on international and intercultural experiences for our students, and there are opportunities for new faculty to develop courses and experiences with an international or intercultural focus.
