Ballet Instructor
The Department of Dance at Goucher College invites applications for a half-time, ballet instructor position to begin spring 2009. Applicants should have an MFA and/or equivalent professional experience, proven teaching expertise, and commensurate, documented , professional accomplishments. The instructor will teach two courses per semester which include ballet dance technique at all levels, men’s class, partnering class and/or pointe. Ability to teach any of the following is desirable: dance methodology and pedagogy; dance composition and choreography; modern dance; or world dance forms. Additional consideration will be given to candidates who can choreograph works for the student dance company, stage established repertory and direct dance productions. The college’s strategic plan has placed an emphasis on international, intercultural, and environmental education for our students. There are opportunities to develop courses and experiences in these areas.
