Poster Printing Information

A poster printer is available to Goucher College students, faculty, and staff in the CTLT area of the library. Posters are becoming more popular today as an academic tool for learning and creativity. In this spirit, the printer is available to the Goucher Community under the following guidelines:

COST:

  • Students will be charged 100 points for posters. If needed, additional printing points can be purchased from the IT Help Desk located in VM 162.
  • Printing is free to Faculty and Staff. (Faculty and Staff must be present to print their own posters. No refunds will be given to students who print posters for faculty or staff members.)
  • Refunds are not issued unless the printer displays on on-screen error. No exceptions!

APPOINTMENTS:

  • Appointments are made online.
    - Sign in to reserve an appointment using the username/password combination ctlt@goucher.edu/posters.
    - Make the "Full Name" your full goucher email address. Only appointments that can be confirmed through the full email address will be honored.
  • The poster must be ready to print at  the start of the appointment time.
  • Appointments are 90 minutes long and the patron must be present during printing.
  • Multiple consecutive appointments are not allowed (i.e. Patrons may not sign-up for more than 90 minutes at a time, and may only print one poster during that appointment.)
  • Posters are printed once only. Multiple copies are not allowed.
  • Appointments are available based on student worker availability and cannot be guaranteed. We will do our best to reschedule appointments to another convenient time whenever necessary. Please leave enough time in your planning to allow for this possibility.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE:

  • Make sure you can access the file to be printed from either a USB-drive or from the network. Do not email the file to yourself as this takes up extra time.
  • The poster should be created as a single page in Photoshop or PowerPoint, and should be no more than 44" in one dimension.
  • Special requests and requests for design consultation should be addressed to ctlt@goucher.edu.
