Goucher’s science and mathematics departments offer rigorous programs and have a tradition of excellence. Our graduates are confident and well prepared to continue their education or pursue satisfying employment.

  • the traditional areas such as biology, biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, medicine, and physics, psychology or
  • the less traditional areas such as pharmacology/pharmacy, physical therapy, geology, forensic science, art conservation, public policy, science writing

Amy Hauser: Biology Major and Minor in Chemistry

  • Performed in major dance concerts at the same time as she completed research and internships in microbiology, genetics, and premedical studies
  • Hauser entered a Ph.D. in biochemistry and molecular and cellular biology at Cornell University
 


After getting her masters in forensic psychology in 2005, Olga Wartenberg is currently pursuing her Psy.D. in clinical psychology at the University of Denver.

 

Paul Powell: Mathematics Major and French Minor

  • Paul participated in superconductor research with a Goucher professor, three study-abroad programs, one summer abroad piloting a math education program in South Africa, and a three-year stint as a lacrosse player
  • Immediately after graduating he was selected by Teach for America for a position in Los Angeles
