The Green Syllabus Challenge--- Are You Ready?

 Our students are Printing Wisely.

Are you?

What is a Green Syllabus?

  • A syllabus which does not have to be printed. Ever. No matter how many changes you make.

If it’s not printed, how do the students get it? They all complain they never get my emails, I don’t want them complaining that they didn’t know about the reading because they didn’t get the syllabus!

  • CTLT will help you make your syllabus available to all of your students, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

This is such a small thing, is it really going to make a difference?

  • "Success in life is founded upon attention to the small things rather than to the large things" – Booker T. Washington

Do I have to make all my syllabi green?

  • Not at all! Start small. Then grow. One syllabus, one course at a time.

Why should I answer the Green Syllabus Challenge?

  • It will save paper!
  • Your students will never be able to complain that they “lost they syllabus” again.
  • It will save paper!!
  • Snow Day? Sick Day? Unexpected Holiday? Update and disseminate your syllabus to the class instantly.
  • It will save paper!!!
  • It's the environmentally responsible thing to do.
  • It will save paper!!!!

What if I already put my syllabus in Blackboard? Is there more for me to do to participate in the challenge?

  • Yes! The CTLT will show you how to post/receive assignments in Blackboard, how to provide feedback on student work digitally, how to check to make sure your students are logging in, how to set up quizzes and tests, and how to set up announcements for quizzes/papers/tests. In addition, we can also sit down with you to brainstorm ideas on how you can make environmental sustainability a part of the coursework for your students. The sky is the limit!
