The Department of Management at Goucher College seeks candidates for a tenure-track endowed professorship in the Department of Management, with emphasis in Human Resources, to begin Fall 2009. In keeping with Goucher’s ground-breaking focus on international education, it is preferred that the candidate have a demonstrated secondary teaching area in International Business. Responsibilities include teaching introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses at the undergraduate level; being current in scholarly activities in the field; and providing service to the college and community.
Goucher College is a multi-disciplinary four-year college located on a bucolic campus in suburban Baltimore, approximately 30 minutes from the heart of the city. The college's strategic plan emphasizes environmental sustainability and international and intercultural experiences. There are opportunities for faculty to develop courses and experiences with an international focus.
Qualified candidates will have an earned doctoral degree pertaining to Management, Human Resources, or a related discipline from an accredited business school. ABD’s expected to complete work on their dissertation within one year of beginning employment will be considered. Industry experience in addition to the academic qualifications will be an advantage. Preference will be given to candidates who provide evidence of commitment to teaching and scholarly activities.
