Goucher College will hold its Second Annual Earth Day Festival on Saturday, April 26, from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the residential quad. In the event of rain, the festival will be moved to the Heubeck Multipurpose Room and Pearlstone. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.

The festival will kick off with the Goucher College Earth Day 5K Run, which will raise funds and public awareness to help combat the effects of climate change. Proceeds from the race will go into a fund dedicated to fighting global warming. The festival will also feature dozens of local vendors, artists, and artisans who will participate in Goucher’s Earth Day Rummage Sale, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., along Van Meter Highway. For more information, e-mail rummagesale@goucher.edu.
There will be live music by campus and local bands; a BBQ by Bon Appétit, Goucher’s food services provider; activities and games for all ages; and information tables and displays from environmentally focused student and off-campus organizations.
These event are sponsored by the Agricultural Co-op, Earthworks, Goucher Climate Action Group, the Class of 2010, the Office of the President, and the Student Government Association.
