Study in Costa Rica!

Goucher College, in cooperation with Mount Holyoke College and the Monteverde Institute, offers a semester-long (Spring Semester only) academic program in Monteverde, Costa Rica.  "Global-Local Challenges to Sustainability: The Costa Rican Experience" is open to all majors, and offers students a wealth of opportunities to analyze the challenges of sustainability and to search for solutions within the specific context of Costa Rica and Monteverde.  The program emphasizes place-based learning, and includes overnight field trips, site visits, and an opportunity for participants to undertake independent research.  Students may also take advantage of an independent study option and extend their stays in Costa Rica.

Students live with host families, and all meals are provided.  During field trips, students stay in triple- or quadruple-occupancy lodging, and all meals are included.  A faculty member from either Goucher or Mount Holyoke serves as the on-site resident director .
