Credit Evaluation and Transfer
Once you are admitted to Goucher, your transcripts and course descriptions will be forwarded to the Registrar for credit evaluation. In order for credits to transfer to Goucher, you must achieve a minimum grade of C, and Goucher must offer a similar course. The credit evaluation process will not take place until the admissions office makes a final decision on your file. The maximum number of credits a student can transfer to Goucher College is 60. Keep in mind, all undergraduates are required to achieve at least 120 credits to graduate; you must achieve your final 60 credits while matriculating at Goucher.
For students transferring from a college within Maryland, you may use ARTSYS to approximate how many credits will transfer to Goucher. This is not final until after the official credit evaluation by the Goucher Registrar.
Financial Aid
As a transfer student, you can apply for need-based financial aid. This consists of grants, loans, and federal work-study. In order to be considered for need-based aid, we require that you submit the FAFSA and CSS Profile. Once an applicant is admitted, and we have received both forms, the Office of Financial Aid will generate a financial aid package.
All transfer students with a complete application will be considered for merit-based scholarships. The Admissions Office offers transfer scholarships up to $6,000 per year. In the past, 70% of transfer students received a merit-based scholarships. To be in strong consideration for a scholarship, an applicant should carry a cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or higher.
