Practical information for students currently abroad

Transcript Requests

If you need to request a transcript while abroad, you'll need to have a transcript request form on file with the Registrar's Office.  You can download this form from the Registrar's web site.  If you are already abroad, you should allow for a few weeks for this form to be received and processed at Goucher.

Election Year

If you will be studying abroad during an election year, you may want to consider requesting an absentee ballot through your home state.  In most states, you will need to request an absentee ballot a few weeks prior to the election (primary or general).  Absentee voter information for registered Maryland voters can be found here.   The Overseas Vote Foundation also has many resources on its web site for voting while you're away.

Fulfilling Financial Obligations

If you have owned a mobile phone, opened a bank account, or made another kind of financial arrangement abroad, please make sure that you have paid all balances and closed all accounts before leaving the country at the end of your time abroad.
