Get an American education with an international perspective.

Goucher's commitment to global education doesn't stop with study abroad. Courses in all 31 majors and six interdisciplinary areas examine ideas, literature, works of art, scientific theories, diplomatic policies, and social phenomena from all over the world.

No matter what field you choose to major in, you'll graduate from Goucher with an international perspective on culture, politics, art, and life in general.

Many of our science students collaborate with their professors on high-profile research projects, funded by leading organizations like the National Institutes of Health. Our creative-writing students receive regular critiques from a National Book Award finalist and an acclaimed poet, and attend readings and workshops by internationally known authors like Seamus Heaney, Marjane Satrapi, and Edwidge Danticat.

We're also one of the first colleges in the United States to offer a major in peace studies, giving students a chance to study nonviolent resolutions to global conflicts. Human-rights activists from Afghanistan, Chile, Israel, Uganda, the Sudan, and other countries frequently come to campus to present lectures and presentations.

And every year, choreographers and dancers from companies like American Ballet Theatre, Israel's Bat Dor Dance Company, and the London Festival Ballet come to campus to produce their original works using Goucher student dancers.

At Goucher, even though you'll be living and working in the United States, you'll continue to expand your knowledge on a global scale.
