Assistant Professor in Political Science
The Department of Political Science and International Relations at Goucher College invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in comparative politics beginning in August 2008. The successful candidate will have their Ph.D. in hand. The teaching load is 3-3, research area specialization is open. The College has recently committed to an international and intercultural emphasis in the curriculum, including a requirement that all students have a study abroad experience for graduation. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to this effort and will have the opportunity to establish study abroad programs.
Requirements include the ability to teach a senior capstone course concerned with scope and methods in the discipline, the ability to incorporate themes of environmental sustainability, and evidence of a commitment to excellence in teaching and a promise of productive scholarship along with service to the college and the discipline.
