Comic Book Club of Goucher College

Comic books and graphic novels are an ever-expanding medium in the world of literature.  Over the past few decades, the comic book industry has produced modern classics such as Watchmen and Maus.  Comics were once regarded as nothing more than entertainment for children but as the medium became more expansive comic books have been a major contributor to popular culture.  As avid comic book readers we feel that there is both a need and demand for a club on campus that will be an appropriate place for both long time fans and peopel who are just becoming interested in graphic novels and comic books.  A conundrum that many comic book fans face is that by nature comics are a very expensive medium to purchase en masse.  With the proper funding the four founders will create a place for people to discuss and learn more about this growing phenomenon and hopefully help to contribute to a rapidly developing industry.
