Over the last six years, 100% of Goucher post-bac pre-med students were accepted into medical school; our undergraduate medical school acceptance rate is also among the highest in the nation.morePreface is Goucher's student-produced literary arts journal. Published twice a year, Preface showcases the best of original student works, including art, drama, expository writing, fiction, poetry, and prose. Preface also sponsors events such as the Gothic Poetry Reading, An Evening with Poets and Writers, and other student/faculty readings. Staff members work with the editor to collect submissions, assist in the layout and production process, and research current literary events in Towson and Baltimore City. Dedicated, insightful members are greatly needed. Polished, carefully crafted submissions are welcome from anyone who would like to contribute.
We will be accepting submissions of student-generated poetry, prose, and artwork for the Fall 2007 Issue until October 24, 2007. Bear in mind, submitting sooner gives us more time to evaluate your work and increases your chances of publication.
E-mail your work to:
Prose: Amccarth@goucher.edu
Poetry: Jschweit@goucher.edu
Art: Rachel.stark@goucher.edu
Include your name, the piece’s title (for artwork also list the materials and dimensions. Scans must be 300dpi for us to print.
Attention Artists:
We will be holding two Scanning and Photographing Seminars in the CTLT on:
September 29 at 4:00 PM
October 17 at 9:30 PM
These seminars are optional, but if you plan to submit artwork and aren’t positive that you know how to scan to 300 dpi or take quality photographs of your larger work, please attend—we would hate to eliminate good artwork because it isn’t a quality can. Contact Rachel Stark for more information.
