Annual Giving Officer

Founded in 1885 and located on a beautiful 287-acre wooded campus just north of Baltimore, Goucher College is a selective, coeducational liberal arts college with an enrollment of 1,450 undergraduate and 400 FTE graduate students and more than 14,000 living alumnae/i.

Scope: Responsible for the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of donors who have the potential to make leadership gifts to the Annual Fund, with particular attention to prospects who have graduated since 1980. Basic

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the Annual Giving Officer has primary responsibility for the face-to-face cultivation and solicitation of current and prospective leadership donors.

Major Duties: The Annual Giving Officer is responsible for the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospective leadership donors to the Annual Fund. The Annual Giving Officer will conduct face-to-face meetings, 25 to 30 per month, in support of the Goucher Society, Reunion Class Gifts, the Blue & Gold Society, Goucher Associates, and the Parents’ Fund. The Annual Giving Officer will develop and implement a plan to launch and subsequently increase e-solicitation strategies and will be responsible for moves management strategies for current donors.

Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree and experience in direct solicitation and/or sales is required. The preferred applicant will have an advanced degree, and three or more years of progressively responsible experience in development programs, including fundraising experience in higher education. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated experience working independently and managing several ongoing projects simultaneously, and must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Travel, including night and weekend hours, is required.
