Q: When will the conference be held?
A: The conference this year is scheduled for March 12-15, 2008. The first classes will begin at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12th. Alonzo King's LINES Ballet is scheduled to perform on Thursday, March 13th and Friday, March 14th at 8 p.m. in Kraushaar Auditorium. Please see the LINES Ballet Company Profile for more information on our guest artist.
Q: When must we register for the conference?
A: All in-region, ACDFA member institution participants (faculty and students) must be registered by November 1st, 2007. Please refer to our Table of Fees for out-of-region and non-member institution deadlines. Please note that our space is limited, and we may have to close off registration to those who do not register early. Registration and adjudication fees are non-refundable.
Q: What fees are included for registration and adjudication?
A: Please refer to the Table of Fees for more information. Participants who register following their specified deadline, as well as non-ACDFA member institutions are subject to additional fees. You will be able to pay using a Visa or Mastercard through RegOnline, and purchase orders will also be available. Please make any checks payable to:

Q: How do I submit a piece for the adjudication, informal, or faculty showcase concerts?
A: In order to submit a work for adjudication, you must complete an Adjudication Concert Registration Form as well as refer to the Adjudication Concert Policies for conference participants, both of which are accessible using RegOnline. A fee of $100 will be charged for each piece submitted. Please remember that a maximum of two works may be submitted for adjudication, one of which must be choreographed by a student. To submit a work for the informal concert or faculty showcase, please complete an Informal Concert Registration Form and refer to the Informal Concert Policies and the Faculty Showcase Registration Form as well as the Faculty Showcase Policies, respectively. These forms are also available through registration with RegOnline.
Q: What are the guidelines for the adjudication, informal, and faculty showcase concerts?
A: Please refer to Adjudication Concert Policies, Informal Concert Policies, and Faculty Showcase Policies for conference participants to obtain more information on conference etiquette. Also, please make note of the Anonymity Reminder for students and faculty in interacting with the conference adjudicators. All choreographers submitting their works must complete a Video Waiver to allow the college permission to videotape works for ACDFA archives.
Q: Who will be adjudicating?
A: We have three highly credible adjudicators who will be providing feedback on all of our adjudicated works: Virginia Johnson, Steve Rooks, and Joanna Mendl Shaw. Please see their biographies for information on their backgrounds and expertise.
Q: What classes are scheduled during the conference?
A: As of now, we have a tentative conference schedule, which is subject to change following registration. You may access the conference schedule here.
Q: When are the adjudication, informal, and faculty showcase concerts scheduled?
A: Please see our Tentative Conference Schedule for an overview of when the concerts will be held. Note that all Adjudication Concerts will take place at Kraushaar Auditorium on campus. The Informal Concert and Faculty Showcase will both take place at the Carver Center for Arts and Technology, less than a five-minute drive from campus. A more detailed rehearsal and performance schedule will be available following conference registration.
Q: What are your theater dimensions and lighting/technical capabilities for the concerts?
A: All of our theater and technical information is available here. This includes information on Kraushaar Auditorium (which will house all the adjudication concerts and the Gala concert), as well as Carver Theater (which will house our informal concert and faculty showcase).
Q: What compensation is available for conference musicians?
A: Musicians will be provided with a compensation of $25 per class. Student musicians are encouraged to attend the conference as well. If you wish to accompany classes during the conference, please complete a Call for Musicians form during registration.
Q: What other events are scheduled for students and faculty during the conference?
A: The annual ACDFA membership meeting is scheduled for Friday, March 14th from 1-3 p.m. LINES Ballet is scheduled to perform on Thursday, March 13th and Friday, March 14th at 8 p.m. in Kraushaar Auditorium. There will also be a Gala Concert Reception on Saturday, March 15th immediately following the Gala Concert Performance.
Q: Are there any special items I should be prepared to bring to the conference?
A: Appropriate dance attire, costumes for performers, dance shoes for all types of classes, yoga mats, and any accessories, makeup, and props for all performances should all be considered while packing for the conference.
Q: Will rehearsal space be available for the performers upon arriving at the conference?
A: A sign-up sheet for rehearsal space will be posted at the registration table upon arriving to the conference. Space is extremely limited, so rehearsal space can be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis only. Please arrive early if you wish to sign-up for adequate rehearsal time.
Q: Where are the local hotels located for guest stay?

Q: How can I get there?

Q: Where are the best local restaurants?
A: Please see our Local Restaurant Guide for information on local food vendors and delivery services in the Towson and Baltimore area. Goucher also has three on-campus dining facilities which will be available to conference participants.
