Videotaping Conference Events

1. The ACDFA National Office does not reproduce or provide copies of videotapes/DVDs. Sending videotapes to the National Office serves the following purposes: ACDFA archives, documentation, and programming of National Festival Concerts.

2. Gala Concert tapes and programs will reside in the ACDFA Archives at the Performing Arts Library, University of Maryland-College Park. Appropriately labeled tapes shall be sent to the ACDFA National Office.

3. In a National Festival year, high quality, accurate, color cassette videotape or DVD documentation of the Gala Concert must be provided to the National Office by each Conference Coordinator immediately following the conference.

4. Video waivers must be secured from the choreographers of works (or faculty representative of the choreographer in case of guest artist works or reconstructions) appearing in a Gala Concert and sent with the videotape directly to the National Office. These video waivers may be secured during the first meeting with choreographers after the announcement of the Gala Concert participants. All tapes will become the property of the American College Dance Festival Association Archives; without signed video waivers for each piece in the concert, the tape cannot be included in the Archives.

5. An ACDFA Video Waiver agreement is included in the ACDFA Conference Handbook or may be downloaded here.

6. In a Non-National year, video documentation of the Gala Concert is necessary if one is held.

7. It is highly recommended that you do not videotape for any purpose other than the archival documentation of the Gala Concert. If you do choose to videotape, you will be accepting all responsibility and will need a video waiver form signed by every choreographer whose work will be videotaped. This waiver differs from the ACDFA Video Waiver form in that it must include the following statement: "This work is being taped for (name of host institution), not for the American College Dance Festival Association."
