Dr. Ann Hutchinson Guest is internationally celebrated as the foremost authority on dance notation. Founder of the Language of Dance Center (LODC) and instrumental in founding the Dance Notation Bureau, she has worked with choreographers such as Agnes de Mille, Jerome Robbins, George Balanchine, Doris Humphrey, and Jose Limon as a dancer and notator. Working with Claudia Jeschke in 1987, she deciphered Vaslav Nijinsky's system of dance notation, making available his original ballet "L'Apres-midi d'un Faune" as he conceived it. Ms. Guest will be staging and coaching "L'Apres-midi d'un Faune" while in residence at Goucher, February 9-25. The historical work will be performed in the Dancers in Action Spring Concert on April 27 & 28 at 8:00pm in Kraushaar Auditorium.
