LEAP is designed to encourage and enhance leadership skills for incoming first-year students prior to Fall Orientation. Students participate in a fun and challenging two-day program with the first day on-campus doing teambuilding and field games and the second day on a ropes course in the local community. The program promotes building relationships and a foundation for academic and leadership success. All students will be assigned to a common section of Connections (the required first-year course).
Testimonials from past participants:
"Come into the program with an open mind and a positive attitude because that helps everyone in the group to bond together and grow. They should also participate in all of the activities even if they don't really want to or are scared because once they complete the activity it feels so rewarding."
"This program will blow you away. The activities and bonding throughout the program really helped me grow accustomed to campus much faster than I planned. An essential part of a Goucher leader's journey!"
"Have fun and use the support system that they have in the LEAP program because it will pay off throughout the semester, year, and perhaps the rest of their time at Goucher."
