Special Collections

The holdings of the Goucher College library include an impressive family of special collections—including the world-class Burke Collection of Jane Austen first editions and other research materials. These collections were formerly maintained in the lowest level of the library, where there was little space for research and no room for expansion. In the new library at the Athenaeum, they are given the space they deserve—with ample room for research and under the protection of state-of-the-art preservation resources.
