Between the Athenaeum and Mary Fisher Hall, and just off the campus traverse known as Van Meter Highway, is an open-air terrace. It is planted with a grid of honeylocust trees, providing a high, airy canopy under which people can sit in the sun-dappled shade on benches of cut quarry stone. We feel the terrace is an ideal place for members of our community and visitors alike to find outdoor performances, rallies, readings, lectures, concerts, celebrations, and, sometimes, people just enjoying each other’s company.
