The Overall Process

Each academic department at Goucher receives a yearly sum from the library for the purchase of materials. You make recommendations and we do the buying. Please check with your department chairperson if you are not already familiar with the way your department handles the division of funds among department members for buying.

Also, note that the deadline each academic year for departmental orders is MARCH 1.

The library does have some acquisition funds of its own. For example, we have a budget for purchasing materials for the Reference Collection. If you have recommendations for additions to that collection, please contact Randy Smith (X6365), Research Services Librarian.
