Room Preparation

It is your responsibility to return your room to its original condition. All trash must be removed from rooms and hallways and taken outside to dumpsters. Dumpsters have been placed in the residential quad and the Probst/ Winslow side of Stimson for your convenience.

To prepare your room please:

1.  Sign up for a check out time on your CA’s door before you leave. Residents must sign up at least 24 hours in advance. You should be ready to leave the residence hall at the time of your check out.
2. Dust and sweep the floor of your room (but not into the hallway).
3. Completely empty and clean your room (as well as your bathroom cubby).
4. Make sure that all furniture originally in the room is in the room at the time of inspection. The cost of missing furniture is the responsibility of the room's resident/s.
5. Make certain that Venetian blinds are hanging on the windows.
6. Seal and deposit all garbage in dumpsters outside. Do not leave garbage in rooms or hallways (trash in hallways is billed to the entire community).
7. Lock your room upon departure.
8. Turn in your key to the Office of Community Living.

REMEMBER: Avoid all damage/cleaning charges by leaving your room in proper condition. By signing your key in and taking the time to prepare your room, you will avoid costly damage charges!
