Mazen worked as a financial analyst for Bear Stearns in New York prior to attending the Goucher post-bac program. During his glide year he served as the teaching assistant for the Goucher program while continuing to lead a mentoring program for inner-city youth in Baltimore. Mazen is currently completing his residency in plastic surgery at Johns Hopkins.
