Religious and Spiritual Life is understood as broad and diverse at Goucher College. There are organized groups within various religious traditions and groups which meet to explore spirituality in non-traditional ways. Students express their spirituality through dance, music, art, and words. All are invited to share what matters to them and why.
As Chaplain of this community, I am eager to work with all members of the Goucher College community - students, faculty, and staff - to find ways for folks to explore and express their spiritual values and commitments, their religious traditions, their search for meaning and value, and their questions.
I also understand the work of the Chaplain to be that of a companion in life’s journey, whether the journey takes one through the painful places of illness, depression, addiction, grief, abuse or the parts of the journey that are celebrations of achievement, accomplishment, and relationship. I am happy to talk about whatever a person wants to talk about—religious or otherwise.
My office is in the basement of Haebler Chapel. Once you arrive, I am delighted to schedule times for conversation, either in the Chapel or over coffee or sitting outside. You are welcome to be in touch with me this summer (cynthia.terry@goucher.edu), and I look forward to meeting you in the fall.
