The first Goucher II advisory board convened on March 27, 2006, for a full-day workshop designed to assess and support the program. The meeting allowed the board to meet key administrators and office directors who work closely with Goucher II, and members were given an overview of the liberal arts curriculum, including the college’s increased emphasis on international studies. Programmatic elements of Goucher II also were discussed, and recruitment, enrollment, and development were identified as important issues for future discussion. Ad hoc committees have been formed to address these issues in more detail throughout the year, and recommendations will be presented to the full board at the annual meetings.
The advisory board is an important addition to Goucher II as the program anticipates its future needs and the interests of the growing numbers of nontraditional college students seeking to complete their undergraduate degrees.
