Offering 31 majors and six interdisciplinary areas, Goucher College's academic program is expansive in both range and depth. A Goucher education cuts across disciplines to encompass a vast body of knowledge, and couples that knowledge with internships, study-abroad, and service learning programs that test, shape, and reinforce the lessons learned in class.
In the classroom, Goucher students work closely with a dedicated and distinguished faculty that includes critically acclaimed writers and nationally recognized scientists, historians, and scholars. Classes are small - most include less than 20 students - and are marked by close personal attention from professors and abundant opportunities to collaborate with them on research and other projects whose influence is felt far beyond the classroom.
Most of all, Goucher offers flexibility. Students are encouraged to combine classes from different departments to create their own majors, pursue independent research projects, and plot their own course to a rewarding and fulfilling educational experience.
