Kristin Winter-Jones is co-principal flute with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra as well as principal flute with the Concert Artists of Baltimore and second flute with the Baltimore Opera Orchestra. She also served as principal flute with the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra for nine seasons.
As a soloist, Ms. Winter-Jones has appeared with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Concert Artists of Baltimore, the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Mid-Atlantic Chamber Orchestra. In 1982 Ms. Winter-Jones was awarded the Bronze Medal at the Madeira International Flute Competition. That same year she was a winner of the New York Flute Club Competition and was featured as a soloist with Jean-Pierre Rampal and Julius Baker at Avery Fisher Hall in Lincoln Center. In 1985 Ms. Winter-Jones was awarded second prize in the National Flute Association’s Young Artists Competition.
She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Juilliard School where she was a student of Julius Baker. Ms. Winter-Jones has been on the flute faculty of Goucher College since 1997.
