Serafina DiGiacomo began her career as one of the youngest singers to ever perform with the Philadelphia Grand Opera Company. Following studies with Eufemia Giannini Gregory at the Curtis Institute she went to on earn a Bachelor's degree from the College of Notre Dame and a Master's degree from the Peabody Conservatory where she studied with Flore Wend. Her numerous performance credits include appearances with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra and other symphony orchestras in the United States. Having premiered many new works, Ms. DiGiacomo sang in the American premiere of Lilli Boulanger's FAUST ET HELENE at the Peabody Conservatory. Her wide experience includes work in opera, French chanson, German lieder and contemporary music. Her over twenty years of teaching experience include serving as the chair of the Voice Department of the Peabody Conservatory's Preparatory Division and creating the innovative Opera Workshop Program at Goucher College in 1992. She has given Vocal Master Classes in the United States, Canada, and France. In 2002 the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts honored Serafina DiGiacomo as one of a select group of Distinguished Teachers in the Arts.
