Ali Bakhshai, Ph.D., is an experimental condensed matter physicist. He received his doctorate in August 1982 from the University of Texas at Arlington. Currently, he is a professor of physics at Goucher College. He has three years of post doctoral experiences at University of California at Berkeley and University of Texas at Arlington (1982-1985), 21 years of teaching experiences in higher education, 20 years of that at Goucher College (1986-present), and 18 years of experience as chair of the department. He is active in research that involves undergraduate students, has 18 research publications, 21 presentations in national and international meetings, and 6 invited talks. He teaches introductory physics, post-baccalaureate-premed physics, modern physics, intermediate physics laboratory, electronics, and astronomy.
