The goal of FOSTER is to develop community-based open dialogue encompassing issues of diversity, power, oppression, and privilege among new students.  Students will participate in a retreat the first day and then venture into Baltimore for practical application of the knowledge and experience shared.  Students will have the opportunity to continue their FOSTER experience as campus diversity peer leaders, organizing diversity-related programs and assisting witb FOSTER planning for the following year.  Cost of the program is $75 per student, with openings for 20 students.

For students interested in continuing their FOSTER experience, retreats, small group discussions, and community service opportunities will be available through the Office of Community Living and Multicultural Affairs. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to serve as campus diversity peer leaders, organize diversity related programs, and assist with organizing the FOSTER program for the subsequent year.
