Summer Orientation will be held on June 12th, 13th, and 16th. Students only need to attend one of these three days, information is mailed out in your acceptance packet, and you must make a reservation for Summer Orientation. Students intending to take dance at any level must attend on Thursday, June 12th for dance placement auditions. Dance placements can only be taken on Thursday. You will meet in groups with faculty to review placement exam results and complete the course-selection form. Before you leave, you will have your photo taken for your Goucher identification card.

9:30 - 10:45 a.m. A Primer for Parents
Overview of a Goucher education, the typical academic experience of a first-year student, and the challenges and support systems your son or daughter will find at Goucher.
10:45 - 11 a.m. Break
11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. “I Survived My First Year of College”
Current Goucher students will role-play phone calls home during their first year of college. Goucher staff will then lead small group discussions designed to help you explore some of the highs and lows that your family may experience in the coming year.
12:30 - 2 p.m. Lunch & Campus Resources Fair
1:30 - 2 p.m. Financial Aid & Billing
2 - 2:45 p.m. Making Connections
This session will introduce you to the ways in which Goucher’s internship, study-abroad, and community service opportunities will help your student make the connection between his or her major and career.

3:30 - 4 p.m. Community Living at Goucher

Departure times are an estimate of the overall program. We can not identify the exact time the program will end for your student based on the registration process. If you are making travel arrangements by bus, train or place we recommend you make your reservations for 7 p.m. or later. This will allow you ample travel time to the station or airport after course registration is complete.
