Report a Safety Concern

Goucher’s Risk Management Committee is responsible for reviewing and addressing potential risks to the health and safety of the Goucher community. The committee's mandate is broad, and includes a charge to receive reports of potential hazards and risks on campus from members of the campus community, so that dangerous and unsafe conditions may be corrected. Accordingly, the committee encourages you to report unsafe conditions that you observe. These may include health and safety risks (such as trip and fall hazards or unsafe conduct by employees or students), fire safety issues (such as faulty wiring or equipment or tampering with fire safety equipment), security issues (such as doors propped open), and environmental concerns (such as improper disposal of chemicals). The attached Notice of Hazard form has been created for the purpose of making such reports. You can deliver the form to the Office of General Counsel through inter-campus mail or you can send an anonymous e-mail to the Office of the General Counsel.

This form is not to be used to report emergencies, crimes, or other incidents that would ordinarily be reported to the Office of Public Safety. But if you have observed a non-emergency condition that you think may create a health or safety risk for you or another person, please report that condition as described above. Because an e-mail communication often includes identifying information, we cannot guarantee anonymity to those who make e-mail submissions. If you wish to remain anonymous, please use the reporting form below and submit the form to the general counsel's office via inter-campus mail.  If you are comfortable submitting the form via e-mail, please send it to safety@goucher.edu.

It is the responsibility of the college and the college community to ensure that our educational programs and other activities protect and promote the health and safety of our students, our employees, and the environment. Responsible use of the Notice of Hazard form will benefit the entire community in this endeavor.
