| For the Love of Jane Austen Juliette Wells, Goucher College’s Burke Jane Austen Scholar-in-Residence for 2009-2010, will give a lecture titled "For the Love of Jane Austen" on Wednesday, February 17, at 7 p.m. in the Hyman Forum of the Athenaeum. Wells will discuss why present-day Austen fans so often choose to feature the author in their fiction and nonfiction writing. |
| 2010 Fisher Music Residency: Augustin Hadelich, Violin Augustin Hadelich, a rising star among a new generation of violinists, will be the featured performer at Goucher College’s 24th Annual Janet and Avery Fisher Music Residency. The concert will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, February 19, in the college’s Merrick Lecture Hall. |
| The End of the Line Goucher College will present a screening of The End of the Line — an independent documentary film lauded at the Sundance film festival as the Inconvenient Truth of the oceans — on Wednesday, February 24. This free, public event will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the college’s Kelley Lecture Hall; a free dessert reception will follow the screening. |
| Goucher Presents Screenings of "The Most Dangerous Man in America" Goucher will present three viewings of the film The Most Dangerous Man in America, which recounts the circumstances surrounding Daniel Ellsberg’s decision to leak top-secret documents leading up to the Vietnam War to the New York Times. The free film screenings will be held in Kelley Lecture Hall at the following times: Saturday, February 27, at 4 p.m.; Sunday, February 28, at 4 p.m.; and Monday, March 1, at 7 p.m. |
