Borrowing/Course Reserves
Borrowing Materials
All materials must be checked out at the Service Desk. Patrons must present their Goucher ID cards or library-issued borrowing card. Borrowers are cautioned not to allow others to use their cards, because the owner of the card will be responsible for all transactions and fees charged to it.
Everyone is welcome to use the library and its resources but in order to check out materials, you must be one of the following:
- Current Goucher student, faculty (including emeriti), staff, or trustee.
- Goucher alumna/us
- Community Borrower ($50 annual fee)
- Member of a BALC or MICUA institution (see colleges below)
- Capitol College, Hood College, Loyola/Notre Dame, McDaniel College, MICA (Maryland Institute College of Art), Morgan State University, Mount St. Mary's University, Stevenson University, Towson University, University of Maryland Baltimore County, University of Baltimore, Washington Adventist University, and Washington College.
Course Reserves
Students: Please click here to check for the titles of items on reserve for your course, before asking our Service Desk staff to look for them on the reserves shelves.
Faculty: Please see our course reserve guidelines before submitting requests to put items on reserve.
Recalls
Any circulating item may be recalled for the use of another patron, or for course reserves.
Non-Circulating Materials
Rare books, Goucher College archives, microforms, periodicals, reference series, and fragile books generally must be used in the library.
