Type of Program: Semester
City: Seoul, Korea
When offered: Fall or Spring
Cost: See Program Costs page

The Seoul program offers courses that introduce you to the business, politics, economics, philosophy, religion and language of Korea. Korea is one of the most rapidly developing nations in East Asia. Downtown Seoul is a city of opposites bustling with palaces, city gates and temples next to government offices, embassies, theatres, shopping and more; all are just a short distance from Yonsei University. Seoul is also home to many IT corporations and is emerging as one of the most "wired" cities in the world, allowing you to experience the opportunities offered by the communications revolution.

You may choose to take courses in the areas of International Business, East Asian Studies, International Relations (all taught in English) and Korean Language. However, the academic courses are only part of the intended value of a semester abroad. Participation in formal and informal activities, such as field trips to local historical sites, forms an integral part of the program. Yonsei University also offers an "International Buddy Program" that promotes interaction between international students and full-degree students at Yonsei University.  The university also offers a "Host Family Program," discussed in greater detail at the on-site orientation in Seoul, which connects international students with Korean families.

The Seoul program is administered in the U.S. by USAC and in Seoul, Korea by the Office of International Affairs and the Underwood International College (UIC) Yonsei University staff who will assist you with securing appropriate student housing and registration, organize exciting field trips and optional tours and oversee your general well-being.
