This ICA is offered for any Goucher business, management, international business, or economic student. The emphasis of this program is on companies and organizations operating in Asia learning to work with a variety of cultures. This program will start with students boarding a flight for Hong Kong and China. Students will visit with over 20 businesses, students will visit and tour cities with visits to some of the most popular places on earth.
Eligibility and Prerequisites:
Applicants should have sophomore standing and be in good academic standing. Applicants are encouraged to speak with Dr. Grossman before submitting an application.
The tentative cost of the program is $5,500 - $5,700 (the specific fee will be determined once more logistics have been arranged). This fee includes all airfare originating and concluding from BWI, hotel lodging in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing, scheduled ground transportation, guided tours, translator, most meals, visa for China, company visits, and insurance. The program fee does not include spending money, snacks, some meals, and unscheduled excursions.
All students are eligible to apply for OIS scholarships. There is a scholarship section on the main application form in each program application packet. Loans are also available to eligible students through the Financial Aid Office in SAS. Students who qualify for the $1,200 study abroad voucher are able to apply the voucher to the cost of this program.
